Only 787 copies of this very rare JAGUAR XJR-S coupe ""sports department"" 6.0 V12 were produced.
The XJR-S is a special model produced by JaguarSport, a specialist high-performance company jointly owned by Jaguar and TWR. Initially powered by the 5.3-liter V12, it was upgraded to a specially designed 6.0-liter engine with Zytek fuel injection after September 1989, as seen here.
This model was equipped with a new forged steel crankshaft, forged alloy pistons, a modified air intake and a dual exhaust system. This 6.0-litre engine was unique to the XJR-S and produced 330 hp, which enabled a top speed of 257 km/h.
In addition, the three-speed GM400 automatic transmission used a recalibrated valve body and benefited from faster shift times. The suspension was upgraded to a modified set-up with modified coil springs and Bilstein shock absorbers.
The bodywork was enhanced with discreet aerodynamic elements, including a deeper front bumper, side skirts and a spoiler on the boot lid. The headlights were framed in black instead of chrome and the rear light lenses became darker.
This example is on the right set of 16-inch alloy wheels.
