Ferrari 412i GT 5.0 V12 340hp 1990, K-788-PV
The Ferrari 412i is part of a model line that started with the 365 GT4 2+2 and continued with the Ferrari 400. In 1985, the Ferrari 412 followed. These models are V12 2+2 grand tourers that are closely related technically and structurally. They use the same basis in bodywork, chassis and engine, which has been further developed over the years.
The type designation refers, as usual with Ferrari from that period, to the cylinder capacity per cylinder in cubic centimeters. The Ferrari 400 was the first Ferrari model to be available with an automatic transmission. In 1979 it was succeeded by the 400 i, equipped with fuel injection. The 412 was produced from 1985 to 1989, marking the end of Ferrari's longest-produced model range.
The engine consists of a 4,944 cc V12, good for 340 hp. It is an engine with an emphasis on suppleness and torque, matching the character of the car as a grand tourer. The V12 in the 412i is also considered the last Ferrari engine in the Colombo series to be delivered in a production model.
The example offered here is finished in anthracite gray metallic with a burgundy leather/alcantara interior. Limited information is available about the history of this car. Based on the available data, it appears to be one of the last 412s produced, as production ended in 1989 and was approved in April 1990. As far as can be determined, the car was delivered new in Japan and came to the Netherlands in 2021. According to the available documentation, various activities have since been carried out to bring the car back up to technical level.
Equipment
This Ferrari 412i is equipped with, among other things:
• Electrically adjustable seats
• Electrically operated windows
• Leather/Alcantara upholstery
• Air conditioning
• Automatic transmission
• Power steering
• Radio-cassette player
• Alloy wheels (non-TRX)
• Wooden Momo handlebar
Notes
As mentioned, only limited historical material is available of this car. The paint thickness measurement shows that the car has been painted in the past. On the nose, the front wings and the left front door, local action in the paint is visible in the form of small cracks. In addition, there is a crack in the rear window.
This example equipped with a set of Koenig alloy wheels, probably produced by Speedline. This set has been fitted because the original TRX tyres are not available on special order or only to a very limited extent.
Recent service history
As far as is known, the following work has recently been carried out:
